Homework Tips To Help Your Child

Homework serves as an important function in your child's school life.  The purpose to review and reinforce the lessons taught in school. It is also a method by which your child can develop study habits that will assist them throughout their remaining school years.

Tips:

1.  Always ask your child if he/she has homework on every given day.
2.  Be interested in what your child is working on and their efforts.
3.  Home is the child's work, not yours.  Be sure that they are doing it themselves. If your child is having difficulty, contact the teacher or school counselor (me).
4.  Set up a time for homework that is acceptable for your particular family routine and teach your child to fulfill that commitment.
5. Make sure your child has a quiet place to study where they cannot be easily distracted.

Learning to work well at homework increases your child's self-esteem.  He/she has a responsibility that when fulfilled means success!
