The school year is approaching...

The transition back into school can leave some children feeling nervous, stressed, anxious and/or excited. To help minimize some of the worries, start getting your child back into their "school routine." You can do this by:

1. Getting to bed early.

2. Go over the supplies list with them and organize which color folder they are going to use for each class.

3. Set aside a certain time of the day that they will do their homework. They can start this now by reading during that time.

4. TALK TO THEM-discuss what they did over the summer and ask them how they are feeling about coming back to school.  You might be able to minimize any worries that they might not even knew they had.

5. Empowering them and projecting confidence in them to be independent learners and individuals.
